buyin a fc3s

im about to buy an fc its an 88 just wanna kno what i should chek for and common problems n such... n i was just wondering whats the safest rpm u can rev a stock fc upto... also whats the highest u've seen an rx reved to... a freind of mine doesnt believe they can rev high

check the FAQ at the beginning of this section for a buyers guide. The 89-91 FCs rev to 8500 rpms or so. The RX-8 is 9500 rpms or so.

Yes they can rev higher, but if you're going to attempt that you'd want the engine professionall balanced, blueprinted, & tuned to prevent vibration issues, eccentric shaft flex, and rotor + rotor housing damage. Dragsters & racers do it, but you have to take precautions.

thanx... im not gunna try it... atleast not untill i have some money in my car... but one of my friends doubted that they can rev higher than the average car
