Hey guys, well yes i just burn my brand new 3 weeks old clutch @ the strip last Friday.
well i'm doing my streetport next week and wanted to see how fast it is before and after. So i head to the track ...wait 40 minutes in line to race and then the $$## clutch didn't last until 3rd gear @ 8K, yes it Melted @ my very 1st run with the car..so! about the 1/8 mark.
anyhow.. i just want to ask those of u with street port.. how much did it cost u?? and what kindda drivetrain set up u got with it ,, how does it feels,, how much did it cost and where did u get them??
thanks guys.

Could be a number of things...not broken in properly, not installed correctly, or it may even be the wrong clutch for car. If it's not being broken in properly you could be glazing the clutch.

this may be a newbie question, but how do u break in the clutch? like i understand breaking in the engine, not revving too high, but the clutch you're gonna have to press down the same amount either way

No hard launches, don't go much higher than 4.5K for at least 400 miles or so

The RPM shouldn't matter much with a clutch I'd think, as long as you don't shift at like 5k or more.. well, I guess.. just stay under 4.5k as a general rule

Some clutches dont need to be broken in (some performance ones) but at the same time some clutches need to be broken in.

Just drive normally for about 400 miles and you'll be good.

Well basically when you break in a clutch, you want to drive for about 500 miles. That's stop and go driving, NOT a continuous driving. No hard launches or speed/power shifting, in other words no racing. It's better if the RPMs are kept kind of low when shifting.
