bumper is hurt (stock) what can i do
the lower lip on my stock s5 bumper is cracked right in the middle... not all the way through, but its cracked.
how can i fix this (QUALITY) without resorting to a new bumper? i dont want to cut out the grill with this cracked because i think the center post might be holding it together...
also on a side note, if anyone wants to donate some ftp lenses to a very extremely poor rex owner who just gave up on going out this week to give my baby my last $$$ for her oil, id love you for all time
done begging. seriously on the bumper though, what will repair it? i was thinking of fab'ng a bracket and gluing it with some high tensile epoxy or something... but im not into 'ghetto'... im sure someone understands

I have asked this same question 4 weeks ago. I got the same thing as your gettin......nothin!! Hello!! bump bump bump, is this thing on????
There is a type of filler out there just don't know what. you'll have to make a brace to hold it together then fill, sand and paint (just like body work) Just gotta find out what to use for filler!! Bondo is not right, it will get too hard and won't flex like the rubber
I'll keep watching your thread. I hope I didn't bring the voodoo over from my useless thread

kill it with BOOMSTICK!
There's a special compound (not sure of the name, but have used it before) made specially for urethane bumpers to fix that stuff. It hardens semi-plyable so that it won't be as much of a weak spot. Ask a local body shop, they'll probably point you in the right direction.

i have little to no experience with bodywork, and even less with urethane... would it be cheaper / faster in the long run to just pull a new(used) bumper and call it a day?

Any place that is bent or kinked use a heat gun and soldering iron to help mold the bumper as close back to shape as possible. After you get the shape back to fix the crack itself (on the back side) use long strain fiberglass if its a small crack, if its a larger crack use a cloth type fiberglass. Then to make it look pretty on the outside use a 50/50 mix of plastic filler and metal glaze putty (it will give it a little more flex than straight body filler).

If you don't have any experience with bodywork it most likely is faster (not cheaper) to just replace it, you’re going to need to re-paint it after you repair it any way.

Around $3,000 at a decent shop for prep + paint but I bet you have some dents that need to come out also.

spray paint your bumper black...takes away noticable cracks and stuff. i mean it wont cure the crack it'll still be there but it makes it somewhat invisible. thats what i did when i cracked my front lip with this rock that was on the road :S...btw is it just the lip or is it the bumper...cause if so a black lip would look really nice specially on a white rx.
