Built Diagnostic Tester...Error Code 7

Hey All,
Okay I built the diagnostic connector with the RadioShack parts (2 Red LED assy's. with built in resistor current limiters and connected to DCC1 and DCC2 with ABR (Air Bypass Relay...basically a fused 12V source) as the source. And, I do have a code showing up. Now, keep in mind I have run the engine VERY little, only to get it to idle and check other things as I go (battery disconnected after each start up for a minimum of 1 hour).
Anyway. I'm getting the 3 second #1 and #2 LED lit upon Ignition ON, then (Long (L)) lit on #1 for approx. 2 seconds...guessing this is the long lighted condition, then (2) short pulses, also on the #1 LED, LED #2 never lights after the frist 3 second on condition after the ignition key on. So, basically in Morse code it would be Dash, Dot, Dot, pause...repeat.

According to the links I've followed. It is this:

Code 07 - Boost/Pressure sensor.
DCC1: LSS P ... (1 long light ... 2 short lights ... long pause ... repeat)
DCC2: does not light
Fail-safe mode: Maintains constant command: 96 mm Hg (boost sensor), 26.3 kPa (pressure sensor)
Comments: This is located on the right shock tower.

So, I don't know what this is (I have an NA S4 88 Vert, no turbo.

Any thoughts, TIA

Jeff

The pressure sensor is the 4 wire sensor bolted to the passanger strut tower, right near the airbox location. It should have a vacuum line running to it. It's maybe 3.5"x3"x2" in dimension.

A couple of ways to address that. Get your digital meter out and check pin 2B at the middle plug on the ECU with the plug attached to the ECU and the key to ON.

Compare YOUR reading with the reading shown in the Fuel and Emissions Section of the FSM, subsection CONTROL UNIT. It should read 3.5 to 4vdc if the signal is good.

IF you read something like 5vdc or zero volts dc, then the wiring might be broken or ......or the black/white wire at the sensor does not have batt voltage...........or the brown/white at the sensor does not have the 5vdc voltage ref voltage.........or the black wire at the sensor is not tied to ground..........or the elect plug is off the pressure sensor.

I didn't look up the codes/flashes and trust your right on what you said.

Do the above with the key ON and the engine OFF.

There is a vacuum hose that connects from the lower intake manifold and runs up to and connects on a nipple on the bottom of the boost sensor (at the front of the right shock tower). Make sure that hose is present and connected at both ends. If not, correct it, reset the ECU (neg cable off for 5 sec), and try again.
