the buck stops here

my friend and i were tuning up are 7's yesterday .new plugs ,oil etc.i have a vert 1990 he has a coupe.he metioned that his 7 was bucking at low rpms and he addded a bottle of techron fuel inj cleaner but some improvement for only 2 days and the hestiation ,bucking returned.he then changed the fuel filter same problem.he the took it to a great bear station to get the codes read cause his engine lite can on every time his car bucked they told him it was the air flow meter.he shopped around mazda dealer and was floored by the prices on a new one.i told him let;s take it offand try cleaning it.he was hesitant but let me. i sprayed some carb cleaner on it is not the flapper type but the one with the ball thingy .well mucho dirt came off it i carefully cleaned the connecter part then put it back before the the tune up.well to his surpise it ran like achamp the bucking stopped.when then finished the tune up and she ran better .so far so good . cheap fix.

So you guys cleaned the Air Flow Meter (AFM / MAF) and got the bunch of dirt off? That seems kind of odd since it would be behind the air filter, but ok, another thing for people to check. (Or just blame the TPS!!!)
