Broken turbo

I don't think it's going to cause any more damage, or leak anything, but I'm still a little weary. This is the center section on the exhaust side. What do you think?

There are carbon deposits on the piece that broke off, which suggests it probably will leak.

It's actually a hybrid S5 w/ a TO4B compressor. Do the center sections match from S4 to S5?

And thanks for the offers! You guys are awesome

Hmm... found some threads that say they're the same. Even vato2000taco brought me one so I could swap it out. Turns out, mine are different. I don't quite know what the deal is, but I thought the only thing changed on S5 turbos was the turbine housing, manifold, and turbine wheel. Dimensionally, they're equal. However, something with the bearings is odd.

I tried swapping the compressor backplates, but the bearing on the S4 CHRA is too tall, so the backplate doesn't go down all the way.

Here are some pics:

The hybrid has a 360 degree thrust bearing, while the S4 has the stock 270 degree bearing. The bearing is commonly upgraded on hybrids, and it looks like metal was milled out to accept the new bearing.

Update:
This should be easy enough to just change the thrust bearing out. I just took the torx bolts out of the 360. It appears as if the company that did this popped out the pins that hold the 270deg bearing in place, then drilled and tapped some screw holes for the 360. So all I'm going to have to do is mask the chra up, then drill and tap some holes. Then obviously clean it up really good to ensure a shrapnel-free turbo.
