You need to look harder, with the car on jackstands, put a pry bar between the nose of the diff and the subframe. If the diff moves freely when force is applied, then your mount is broken.

ok this is the deal its the front diff mount and u cant see it cuz it is in the "tunnell" under the car and it is a bitch to fix/change cuz i ripped mine apart and fixed it you have to drop tha rear subframe so you may as well replace the rear diff bushings while its down trust me. pull halfshafts and drop rear diff and subframe. my bracket was ripped apart so i had to weld it and reinforce it from wheelhop and mad torque. you may want to replace subframe bushings too look up montgomery machine and racing i think for bushing kit

dropping the subframe is the way to go. Its mad easy after a couple of times.

There are some guides on the form, I think one is in the archive.

The website vato is talking about is www.mmr-direct.com the carry many bushings, but all delrin. The front diff mount you will want to buy from www.mazdatrix.com.

I've replaced it without dropping the subframe. It ain't easy and it requires a 4' (yes, 4 foot) socket extension, but it can be done. You do have to lower one end of the diff, and it helps to have a lift.

On the other hand, if you have a lot of bushings to replace, you might as well drop it.
