Arrow broken clutch bolt

guys, i need your opinion. i broke a bolt where you put the clutch cover in the flywheel. i tried to drill a hole in the middle and use and easy out, but i broke the easy out inside the hole. i don't want to take the big flywheel bolt and take it to the machine shop and the machine shop don't want to touch it with the flyewheel attached to the engine. since i still have three guide pins and four more bolts holding the clutch to the flywheel, should i let it go the way it is? will it going to affect my shifting? will the clutch move?

The clutch is a very important part of your car. It is pretty important to have all of those bolts in there as the pressure plate (the one that covers the clutch and bolts to the flywheel) has alot of pressure on it and is pressed away from the flywheel via hydrolics. I would take the extra steps needed to get it out. Try to drill it out again, but use a propane torch or the likes to heat up the bolt then try to extract it.

I wouldn't drive a car with any clutch bolts missing. It will cost you more in the long run by not doing it right.

Great way to warp the pressure plate.

No, you'll need to pull it out.

I usually just drill the head off the bolt (step up sizes until you have the width of the shank of the bolt). Once there is no pressure on the head of the bolt, you should be able to easy out the remnents.

Make sure you use plenty of penetrating oil
