broken clutch assembly...
I was attempting to bleed the clutch lines and right at the end i heard a loud snap sound from the bell housing. now the clutch pedal is completely slack. The part of the clutch assembly that sticks through the bell housing now wiggles around quite a bit and it didn't used to. i think that the pivot point in there broke.
Currently i am putting an S5 block in an S4 body (i have a few other posts up for various things but this is my most recent problem) i am almost thinking that the clutch should have been from my s4 block? (the one that is in the car now is from the s5 block)
does anyone know what broke and/or how to fix it? could it be fixed by me or should i bring it to a shop and let them deal with it.

the clutch hydrolics shouldnt really matter. out of curiousity, are you using the stock disk and pressure plate? your going to need to replace the pivot plate, but i havent had to do this, so i cant really tell ya if its an easy thing to do. the plate is a pita to get to in 2nd gens.... atleast compared to my old SA.
imo, i think you can do it yourself. even of you would have to drop the tranny to be able to get at it. but that might add a few hours onto the task if you do it at your house.

Yea sounds like you may have cracked your clutch release fork or hopefully just unseated it. To get it seated again(that is if it isnt broken) it just pops onto a little pivot ball with some metal clips that snap over the ball. Ive seen cracked forks before but never a completely broken one, but im sure its possible.
