Unhappy ? Broken Apex Seal

I think it happened - my 10th is idling very rough - like it's only working on one rotor. Very hard to start and poor to run until about 300) RPM - then a little smoother.

What's the best way to diagnosis the problem - are there other things that suddenly do this?

Thanks

John

Should be 3000 RPM not 300) RPM.

Sorry

Compression check. Do bullshit around trying to trouble shoot other stuff. Even if you fix the other stuff, if you have bad compression, it needs a rebuild. Always do a compression check first. If its in the 90s or lower, its bad.

I'll start with a compression check this weekend and 'report'. If it's the apex seals - I'll have to consider doing the work myself - as I've max'ed out for this car. Been looking at rebuilt engines - any suggestions or recommendations?

Thanks

John

Sounds a lot like my car. Sorry buddy. Other tests until you to a compression test, rev it in neutral to 3.5k quickly and then pull your foot suddenly off the gas. It should backfire. It should rev very slowly before 3k and it looses velocity going up a hill <3k.

pull the Leading plugs and looking in there with a shop light and you will beable to see the apex seals.. spin the motor by hand while watching and you will see if you got a bad seal or not.. when mine when bad it was mangled but thats just me.. you will beable to tell if its seated properly or not..

A compression test is easier than trying to look in there with a flash light
