Lightbulb break in

(i did search and didnt come up with much explaining it really)
hey guys getting my new motor put in soon and am wondering what u guys did when u broke in your motors....

mines an s5, na, no emissions, (run premix), street-ported, everything is new except for i think the middle housing other than that everything is new (bearings, e-shaft,) you get the point

(staying under 3000rpm for break in)
heres my plan for break in let me know what you think:
250k - do a rad flush and change oil
500k - change oil
1000k - change oil
2000k - change oil
smae thing up to about 5000k

will be using 15w40 oil for the break in

so let me know what u guys think and what u guys did for ur break in

this is what i tell my customers:

drive the car modestly under 4k RPMs for the first 1k miles, varying the throttle and RPMs so it can get used to various loads just don't punch the throttle, keep it under 75%.

at 500 miles change the oil and filter.

at 3k miles change the oil and filter again and every 3k miles therafter.

after the 1,000 miles are up, have fun with your motor, it is a wankel and not the ***** engines we are led to believe by these long extensive break ins..

if you really want to break it in nice and easy you can follow the top procedure up to 3k miles, after that point there should be absolutely no reason the apex seals have not set up, if it blows up then there was a serious issue with the engine to begin with and it was improperly built.

first and foremost though, be sure the TPS and timing are set correctly when you do your first oil change and check and adjust them again at 1,000 miles.
