Brakes !!!

Hi everyone !
I have a little problem ....I changed my brake lines and bleed the 4 calipers (the right way don't worry :P). but the thing is that when the engine is off the brake are stiff and when I turn it on because of the engine pressure the brakes get floppy ...(too much lose) I don't know what's the problem when I turn the car off it's okay .... I know that my brakes pads are finish and need to change them ...could it be because of this that when I turn my engine on it get floppy ??
Thx !

Matt

any time you do brake work like that you should pump the brakes to get pressure built up. if you already did that and things still feel soggy, you still might have air in the lines :-/

Replace the pads before you do anything else. Most people think about everything but the simple option first and replacing the pads will tell you if you have A.) bad master Cyl. B.) stuck caliper C.) improperly bled system.

from what you are saying, it definitely sounds like you have not bled the system corectly. i work in an auto shop so i know how to bleed brakes. stop messing with just the front calipers. start off by bleeding the right rear first, then left rear, right front, then left front. start the farthest away from the master cylinder and work your way towards it. if this does not fix the problem, then your master is probably toast. just for good measure, when you replace the pads, measure the thickness of your rotors. do some research on what the minimum thickness is.
