Brake upgrades
I have an 89 GTU and I want better brakes than stock.
Anyone know where to order upgraded calipers for an FC. I have found a bunch for an FD but not FC.
OR...
How hard is it to swap to TII 4 piston calipers?
Thanks

You should try some better brake pads before you go spending a lot of money on system upgrades. I bought some Hawk HP+ pads (mainly for autocross use) and they were 138% better than whatever the P.O. put on the car last time he'd gotten the brakes done. Hawk would probably recomend their HPS pads for street driving.

Also, don't forget how much difference just changing your fluid can make. My PO NEVER changed it AFAICT. When i changed it, the old stuff looked like chocolate milk mixed with sewage

Go to a pick n pull type junkyard and look around. It's not only turbo cars, 86-88 GXLs came with 4 piston fronts. For you, all you need are the front calipers, and the small hardlines.
Or buy new calipers, most autopart stores have them. You'll still need the hardlines. In a pinch, ask for M10x1.0 inverted flare, 10" long hardlines at the autoparts store. It's ok if it's a bit long, but not too short. You'll want a bender as well. Then form the line to fit. Make sure it doesn't come anywhere close to the wheel.
G'luck.
