brake squeal

get some anti squeek from shucks....new pads like to be noisy... just have to oull caliper off and spread it over rotor.

did you put the dressin on the back of the pad where it meets the caliper?

you outta your mind?

oh my god. spread it over the rotor? are you out of your mind? have you ever even done brakes before? brake pads:

few things to consider:
DO NOT use that red anti squeal crap. it doesnt work. chasis grease (or anything high temp grease like wheel bearing grease works good because you want your pads to slide against the piston and caliper.
DO NOT use brake cleaner to clean off rotors or pads (causes a chemical reaction, causing noise)
DO NOT put grease on rotors or lining of the pads.

I've do brakes everyday, and I've learn good tips on brake noise. I'm not even going to get started in rotor machining.

If you are usig the anti-squeel stuff (I like the blue stuff myself) it goes between the pad and the shim.

Nothing at all should ever be put on the rotor or pad friction surface.

10-4. :)

When I did the brakes on my car I just used the little packet of grease on the back of the pad where it sits on the caliper (not on the pad side). I thought there was some anti-squeel sutff that when on the rotor surface though...could have sworn I've seen people do it the shop...only done pads a couple times though.
