brake rotors
trying to change the brake rotors.. 1988 Vert
i have the brake caliper off along with the rotor question is how do you change over the bearing? i bought the brake rotors from ebay theres two philip screws on the brake rotor itself but they wont budge any help thanks?doing the front right now..

the brake rotor is already off, iam trying to switch the bearing.. from one brake rotor to another theres two screws on the brake rotor do i remove these to remove the center to switch it to the other brake rotor?

iam kinda lost mark, i removed the brake rotor and the bearing came with it.. it seems to me the inner part of the old brake rotor needs to be placed into the new ones...? thanks for your help

You take off the caliper, you remove the two screws, you remove the brake rotor from the hub.
Did you just take out the big nut in the middle or something??? If so, you took off the hub.
Normally the hub stays on the spindle (and car) when replacing the brake rotor.

It sounds like that's what he did. He mentioned, above, that the screws holding the rotor on would not budge.

ok things are clear now.. darn those screws are tough!! they wont budge iall go try some more.. yeah i removed the 17mm nut to get to the hub.. well now i know how to change my bearings.. so i need to get these screws off thanks for your help mark

just drill the heads of the screws off....and when putting new rotor on the hub put some anti-seize on it, that'll help prevent the hub and rotor from fusing together...
btw the screws are there just for holding the rotor on for ease of installing the wheel. the screw doesn't actually have anyother purpose.

just hand tighten the brake caliper on...50lbs.ft? also after drilling the screws out if the rotors won't budge, then you can use a bolt (i found that the rear bolt that holds the caliper in position fit . NOT the ones that hold the bracket down.) and screw the bolt down to release the rotor without damaging anything.
