Brake Problems

Ive got a 87 TII that is giving me some brake problems. When I bought the car the there was no brakes at all, so I changed the master brake cylinder and bled the brakes(three times). The brakes work now but the is little stopping power and the pedal can be pushed to the floor. Ive checked for leaks and there does not seem to be any, also I've driven it for a couple of days and the resiviour is still topped up.

Ok so then today I was driving and the ABS light went on. Later on I heard the ABS pump screech on for about 3 seconds and the the brake pedal got firm but felt like the ABS was on, then back to no braking power. It did that a couple of times on my drive home. The ABS light is off now but the brakes are still squishy.

Is there any way I can get my brakes working without removing/replacing my ABS?

You said you changed the brake master cylinder, but what about the slave cylinder?

Other than that, check the ABS sensors on the wheels and make sure they're not malfunctioning.

No just changed the master cylinder. How would the ABS sensors be responsible for the brake depressing like that?

My mechanic said to me that it may be that one of the calipers may be seized and this could be the problem. But then why would the ABS screech on like that radomly and give me a moment of firm brakiings?

Well, they are sensors....if they're malfuctioning they could be thinking that it seems like it's a case where the ABS should be applied instead of normal braking.

Dont know. My mechanic installed the master cylinder for me. Is it possible that their is still more air in the system? Could a seizing caliper cause the brakes to be like this cuz I think that it feels like the front right caliper is pressing down sometimes after a series of hard braking.
