Brake Pads - which ones?

I need new front brake pads for my GXL, and want to find some performance pads that are good for street use. The ones that I can find are:

Hawk
EBC
Bonez

Anybody ever used them? are they good/bad? anybody use any other makes that are good/bad? Any info can help. Thanks a lot,
Nick

I like the porterfield street/autoX compound (When I can afford em)

They work well on the street, and survive track days at summit Point without any problem.

I hear the Hawk blue race pads are good, not sure about the street compound, though.

Don't know anyone using the others you mention.

I have Hawk pads on (under two hundred miles though). I got the HP+ because I mainly use the car for spirited driving and autocross and they grip SO MUCH BETTER than the crap that the PO had in there...

Hawk HPS or EBC Green are Both very good STREET pads that can take a NOVICE track day (Novices don't use the BRAKES as hard). Hawk HP+ can take a little more track abuse and still work on the street - Be aware they DUST ALOT and tend to SQUEEL - I have heard PORTERFIELD R4S ar an excelent street/track pad but they cost TWICE as much as Hawk HP or EBC Green so I have not tried them yet.

What are your current pads and what don't you like about them?

What will you be doing with the car to warrant the extra braking capabilities?

I have the bonex stage 1 pads and they are a good upgrade from stock. They do seem to dust alot, but with stock wheels, who cares? They may be a lil over-priced.

I have Hawk HPS on my gxl and I like them. Low dust, easy on the rotors and good performance. I bought another set for my '80 but never got a chance to install them (sold the car).
