brake master cylinder Q.
Anyone know offhand if the Brake Master cylinder on JDM modles is the same as USDM, or are they mirror images since they are on opposite sides of the engine bay?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I doubt they would be different, yet again it is on the other side of the firewall which means the lines might have to be routed differently but that could be overcome by bending the lines differently....
However, the JDM models have the "turbo" brakes (vented brakes), which means a different master cylinder than that of a non "vented" brake FC (only one piston calipers on the front vs. 4)

hmm did not know the brakes were different. I have 90 GTU brakes, so perhaps if the BMC on my car was from a JDM front clip, it was under powered for my calipers. Looking at som epictures though the BMC on my car looks identical to USDM's of the same year.

Well as long as you have 4 pot front calipers originally (not just the turbos came with them and they were also available here in the U.S.) then that BMC will work fine from the JDM.
Here you go for comparison: http://mazdatrix.com/j-3brake.htm
