FL MY 1st-2nd gen and new to EFI

Hey guys and gal I got a new little project,, And im new to 13b EFI's ,,anyways a tiny history ,, I bought car for parts it was extremely dirty and thought it would never start,,cleaned it started to mess with it and it started,, it looks like it sat for years,, it smoked for 5 second and it stoped, two weeks later i started and no smoke and i started to mess with it,, it runs really really good engine looks like it rebuilt but it stays at 1.5 rpms,, im not sure whst it can be,, i mess with the screw in top of intake and it went a little lower but that when i closed it completly,, it shake a bit i think is spark so once i get idle down i will change spark plugs,, please help out gurus since i want to stick to efi i heard you can get some real hp out of this engine and newer ones too, so this is my test engine,, would love any help and explainations, thanks,

I wrote a post on MorningStar's bond forum yesterday, and have not gotten an answer yet. I'll answer your thread when I get an answer from the bond forum on MorningStar.

1.5 rpm isn't possible(compression would leak down in 1.5 rotations in a minute). Not sure what your talking about 'shaking it'??

headers and 3" exhaust? is there a reason it wouldn't work? It would 'work' w/o any exhaust too, but would be mighty loud.

I'm not sure what you mean by real hp, but w/o a gnarly port job its not going to make a whole lot. Forced Induction is where the HP is.

Good luck. Try not to write one huge sentence. Also, try to make it clear what you are asking because people tend to just walk away when someone is jabbering with no clear, specific question or comment.

Well My car idles at 1500 rpms and I'm Thinking is a vacum leak I had some thought on what it can be so going to check vacum leak,And I think thats why it shakes,

and second i have a 13b 4 port turbo II housing thats on my rx3 and want to put it on this car for now since im restoring rx3 and not sure if it will fit since is a 6 port engine i think it will but wanted to make sure,

Oh I know port and bridge and exhaust is important ,,my rx3 has big port big bridge but is holley it has some ***** but I think Fuel Injection Turbo is the real deal ,, just messing with this engine to see how I feel about it,,then Ill move up,,

Thanks again,

Your initial post was all over the place, gave little information on the engine (from this point on I'm guessing it's a stock S4 NA engine with some modifications), and was up for less than a day before you decided to bump it. I'm not surprised it was overlooked by a lot of people. There are plenty of knowledgeable people here, but you have to give enough info for someone to go on.

It can idle at 1.5k RPM is the throttle stop has been messed with, or if it has the thermowax & the cam is not rotating. A rough idle can be caused by leaks between the AFM and the throttle body (metered air leak).

S4 TII housings can be interchanged with S4 NA housings. You'll need to install a freeze plug in the rear housing if running NA, as it is open for coolant flow to the stock turbo.
