what about the switch under your dash connected to the brake pedal mast. Is it plugged in, or loose? use an ohm meter to check continuity when you press the button.

Look at the brake pedal where the stop is under the dash. There is a switch there that extends a plunger when you depress the pedal. Mine malfunctioned & I got pulled over. Cop gave me a warning. I did the same thing... checked bulbs fuses ect. It was a simple fix but I can't remember exactly what I did. Maybe the plunger is depressed instead of released to activate the brake lights. I seem to recall a little plastic fitting that cracked and fell apart so the plunger had nothing to catch on. Had the same problem with the clutch. I think I glued a dime on the hole. Just my 10-cents worth!!!
