atkins rotary vs mazdatrix

can anyone explain to me the gross price differance between an atkins master rebuild kit that cost 899 and has a ton of stuff and the mazdatrix rotor rebuild kit that cost 1165 and only has the stuff to do the rotors. That comes out to about 580 a rotor and the atkins rotor kit is 499 and that comes to 250 a rotor. I'm getting ready to by my rebuild kit and I don't want to by the atkins kit and find out it doesn't have all the stuff.

Atkins uses primarily their Apex Seals and Springs. The master rebuild kit also uses paper type gaskets as opposed to OEM ones. Many people have used the master rebuild kit without problems. The master rebuild kit probably does not include oil control hard seals. The master kit should include everything for a full rebuild.

The mazdatrix one replaces everything on the rotors with OEM. (I believe everything)

Has anyone had problems with the paper vs OEM gaskets? If it's an issue I could always get the Master rebuild kit from Atkins Less the seal kit and get the engine seal kit from Mazdatrix.

Most OEM gaskets are paper. I have used the Atkins paper gaskets many times with no problems.

I would only use Mazda parts for the internals.. as far as the external gaskets I have no problem with aftermarket gasket

my biggest gripe about both is how they RAPE you on shipping..

I've heard great things about the Atkins Apex seals. Perform better than OEM

Atkins Seals = Budget rebuild on old housings
OEM = Proper rebuild on new or excellent housings.

One thing about seals is never assume they will fit properly, even new OEM. I had to hone down my brand new Mazda seals for my motor. And from what I hear, Atkins seals tend to expand a little when they heat up. They need to be clearanced carefully (any seals, really, but I guess Atkins have been more troublesome because people install them without knowing their exact size or how the material will act).

I've heard...
Worst words on any forum. In the case of an RX7 forum, find out the people who actually know their stuff (not that there will not be differences of opinion) and consider their advice. Never rely on 3rd party sources of info ie my brothers, sisters, friends, gerbils, baby sitter.

When I say that I typically mean from what I've read from sources I consider reputable. I've been here long enough to be able to point out at least a few guys who really know their '7 ****, and I pay attention to what they say. Not to mention I have a decent mind of my own, I don't go quoting people's comments if they make no sense.
