brake light stays on with 91 vert

My brake light stays on even after the parking brake is down. Anybody got any ideas? I just put in new pads 2 months ago. Car is a 1991 rx7 convertible. Thanks.

low brake fluid or misadjusted hand brake switch.

Could it also be my abs? Do the 91 verts have abs?

It's doubtfull that it's the ABS. 90% chance it is either low fluid (or bad sensor...rare) or misadjusted parking brake lever.

easiest thing to do is check your brake fluid. My light was always on till i changed my front pads (which took 16 hours,,,, another story) but basically my brakes were worn down enough so that i didnt have enough fluid to trip the sensor. Doh. But now my brakelight turns off and i can stop! without my *** swinging around to the right! (my right front caliper was completley frozen, pins, brake pads, and pistons would not budge. Put about a sum of 150 tons worth of malleting to get those bitches to move again. *******.)
