This may be a stupid question but are brake boosters for 2nd gens universal? I mean could I put one from an 87 TII in my 87 N/A or could I put one from a 4 lug into a 5 lug. Also my interior reaks of gas while the car is running any idea of what that could be? The previous owner told me there is a hair-line crack in the gas tank but would that cause it to smell that bad? Thanks.

 

Stop driving the car untill you locate the leak...it might be PD failure leading to KABOOOOOOM!

 

I'm not driving it... it has no brakes... I just start it up every once and a while and after sitting there for a few mins it starts to smell like gas. If it is what you say how would I check that?

Edit: oh and the crack is on the very top of the tank.

 

If the tank had a leak it would smell like gas all the time.......... Smell around the engine compartment, see if the smell is there too.....

 

... anyone know about the brake booster?
