BOV vacuum leak? How can I fix?
BOV vacuum leak? How can I fix?
Okay, I have a vacuum leak somewhere. When I pulled off the UIM to fix a coolant leak, I looked around for a vac leak at the same time and couldn't find anything.
Anyway, I had the BOV off (it's a Blitz), and if I covered all the pipes but 1 and then blew into the open pipe, air would come out the BOV.
So, when I put it back on the car, I sprayed it with some carb cleaner and it did change the idle a bit. So, for one last check I covered the BOV with saran wrap, and it was pulling the saran wrap into the bov (no, it didn't suck it all the way into the BOV
)
Anyway, someone said you can lube BOVs or something cause they stick sometimes.
Any ideas?

Couple quotes from the FD section:
Apparently the Blitz BOV's are famous (or infamous) for leaking when they start getting older.
You know, I have been in the industry a while, and have heard this too, but, much like the Autometer quality question, its generally from people with second or third hand knowledge. I have only seen a Blitz BOV fail once, and it had the soft spring in it, that was the problem.. We replaced it with the stiff and it worked perfectly
