BOV - To place after Turbo or After Throttle Body?

I've seen both setups and have an understanding of why one would arrange one over another.

Whats your preferance and why? Pros/Cons to one setup over the other?

They always go after the turbo/before TB.

The BOV prevents backpressure (compressor surge) against the turbocharger compressor wheel when the throttle plates snap closed. Without one, when the throttle plates snapped shut, the turbocharger would still be spinning, and the boost it created would bounce back and force the compressor to spin in the opposite direction... not good for Turbo life.

Thus, it must go between the compressor outlet and the throttle body plates. After the TB will not do anything.

Perhaps you are talking about before or after the intercooler? There are debates, but really, it doesn't make any difference. Just put it whever it fits best.

I assume that you mean after the turbo vs. before the throttle body. First of all, the best place to put it is where it fits. Once you solve the fitting problem, it is best to place it in a low-velocity / high-pressure area, which means close to the turbo or throttle body, and not in the middle of the pipe. If you are installing a bypass valve (a blowoff valve that recirculates air back to the turbo so as not to upset the stock AFM/ECU air/fuel mixture), then you may want to put it close to the turbo to reduce the length of plumbing from the valve to the turbo. If you are installing a blowoff valve (vents to atmosphere, and requires a fuel computer or EMS to keep from running rich when the BOV vents), then you may want to place it close to the throttle body to reduce the length of vacuum hose, resulting in faster reaction time of the valve.

I now have the GReddy FMIC Kit. After weighing It out, primarily on your reply, I'm placing my GReddy BOV as close to the TB as possible. Should look heavy after all Is said and done.
