Bov Not Venting???
Ok well i started my car for the first time today after doing lots of little upgrades and such and one of the upgrades was putting a Turbo Xs rfl bov on. Well i took it for a quick test run up the road never went over 3500 rpms, but the stock boost gauge was showing boost, but when I let off the throttle i didnt hear the Bov vent. Only reason im saying something is cause i heard how loud these things were and i didnt hear it at all.... Wat could be the problem, or is the stock boost gauge not accurate after the Rtek 1.7 ECU upgrage???? I guess the only thing i didnt hook back up was the little test hose that runs into the intake, but i dont think that would cause it.. Also my idle is really low now, like almost about to die, do you think maybe i need to put some washers in the Bov, and would that make it not vent loudly???
I need all the input I can get.... Thanx

ok guys i just went up the road and boosted like 10 psi throu all gears and i dont hear the bov!!!! do you think maybe the spring is too tight and not letting it open????
Also one other major problem is i have coolant coming from somewhere, its draining all down the side of the block on everything???? Where could it be comeing from, im thinking the 90 degree coolant hose because my idle is all messed up and stuff... Wat do yall think????

Would the bov being too far from the pipe between the turbo and intercooler make it not work right because i have it ran on a hose to where the Afm sits. Would that make it not blow off?
Do you think the spring is too tight therefor not letting it open? So there is no limit on where u can run it and wat size hose u can use to run it there, cause mine come off the pipe with the stock 90 for the stock bov and then i put a lil piece of pvc pipe inside that hose and put the bigger inch and 1/8th over the stock 90 piece and clamped it down.

Here is a picture of my setup, could this make it not vent or is the spring too tight? Also im going to but the bov on its own vac line without the boost gauge tapped in and see if that works....
I dunno about this one, unless the bov came set up to run like a minimal of like 15 psi or something.... But does the setup look messed up or anything, but i think im just gonna cut some coils....
If you have any friends with a turbo'd car, put that bov on their car, or just have a friend watch the valve as you rev it in neutral, if it opens but no sound then.... SLEEPeR! If it doesnt open it has to be faulty unless the vac hose is messed up, and make sure that vac line is actually gettin vaccum. You could also adapt a duck call or a balloon onto it too see if its opening
Sorry to thread-jack, but I was wondering where, on a stock TII, the two boost nipples on the metal pipe in that picture are connected to. I was just going to replace that piece with a straight aluminum pipe b/c the engine I got already had all the emissions blocked off.
I can put it directly on the oem hard line because the metal piece is too small, i guess i could buy the adaptor but I figured this setup would work... And i guess i didnt hear any surge, well maybe not cause the car is open downpipe right now...loll
And the nipple with no pipe on it is for the bac valve, and the other is for the stock bov....
