Bout To Take A Loong Drive

Ok its almost time to see what my rx7 is made of. i plan to drive it from california to florida. then to arizona. Mind you it has 144k on it and the next thing to replace on it will be an engine. I dont know what the previous owner did to the engine but it still runs solid for having such high miles on it. so any adviceon what i should look out for while im crusin across the U.S.?

Check all your fluids before you leave.

Do an oil change before you leave, since you'll be putting at least 3000 miles on it.
New wiper blades might not hurt either.
I would take enough tools to fix a flat and any possible engine issues that could come up. Extra oil and coolant in case something leaks.
I've driven my GTU from Maryland to Texas and back in the same week, fortunately without any problems except maybe poor gas millage and a speeding ticket.

drove from North dakota to Nevada a few times in the FC never had a problem, as long as your maintenance is kept up i dont see why you worry about it?

Have you done the 60,000 mile service to the car?

If you don't know what ther previous owner did, assume that it is time for the service. Beats having a blown radiator hose, broken belt, destroyed rear-end or tranny.

Take care of the car and it will take care of you.

Also, a good investment for all cross country drivers is a AAA membership-free towing etc!

Yup jus do the normal maintanance and you should be okay. I'm thinking of driving my FC from Cali all the way to D.C.!! I might live there for a couple months and need my baby! lol
