bought my 1st RX-7 today. T2

well i bought an 87 turbo II and a 86 n/a for a parts car. dunno what all parts i'd be able to swap if need be besides body parts and a few other things, but no biggie. bought the 2 cars for just $600 (asking price was $800). the T2 needs a paintjob and a rebuilt motor but that's really all it needs (interior is good). everything else is just mods. has a greddy exhaust system from what the owner told me, but i don't want it (gonna get an apexi dual system). and gonna paint it red but wondering about the trim pieces around the sides and the mirrors cause i wanna paint them red too (wondering if the paint would stick cause the peices are originally black and rubber....i think). loved sitting in the car. felt pretty good. just can't wait to get it running. gonna get some 18 inch wheels with some fat 9 inch rims in the back. my mod list will be long and extensive. anyway, just glad that i can actually own one now and be a REAL part of the board not just a non-owner that just comes for a visit. gonna make a LONG picture list of everything i do from start to finish so stay tuned. laters!

well my last car was a 95 eclipse gsx (all-wheel drive) that i had modded pretty good. i love awd so it took a lot to get me swayed over to buying a 7. but i do like it being light weight and the way it feels when i'm sitting in it. nice and snug around me. also like the relatively low cost for the mods i'll be doing. someone has already taken out the power steering and the a/c, etc. so it's already gonna be a nice clean setup in the engine bay. just no mods on it yet except for the exhaust that i don't want on there. but anyway, anyone prepared to answer a few questions about my car that i have....if i ask?

okay, here's the questions.....
1.) the sunroof is rusted (it's the only rusted spot on the car) and needs a new one. anyone have any idea of the cost for a replacement for one of these?
2.) wanting a front lip spoiler. i've seen some advertised but wondering if i should bother ordering one. do the later T2's have these that i could just snag one off of? if not, and i have to order one from the internet, who's a reliable place to order one from?
3.) does anyone make coilovers for 2nd gen's?

uh, think that's all i can think of at the moment. just 3 questions thanks for any info.....

This is extremely common on 86-88's and to a lesser extent, the 89-91 '7s. I suggest finding a non-rusted panel on Ebay or a junkyard and dropping it in. You could spring for a glass sunroof, but expect to pay at least $300 for one.

The later TII's do indeed come with a front spoiler, but they're rare enough as is and are usually damaged or scuffed badly. I'd recommend looking into the lip made by Wormiez or MikeL. These lips will fit the 87-88 TII perfectly and are considerably cheaper than the OE Mazda piece.

Ground Control does. Check www.groundcontrol.com or any of the other sites out there that deal with this company. www.k2rd.com makes coilover spring perches for the FC and you can use the Racing Beat spring with 'em.

Wormiez and MikeL are both members of this board, so just skim through the member list and e-mail or PM 'em.
