I've had my bike for more than 2 months, definatly not 'bored' with it, and oh yeah, i ran into the nuetral finder when I have to make sudden stops and either aren't experienced enough to downshift quickly enough, or i just don't have the time. Other than that, It's definatly been great to have, even if it is only a 250. Sure, get the 600, drop it, and have fun getting it up! I can man handle my 250 pretty easily, and it's yet to bite back.

Yes...we all know about progression....oh, I guess not all.
If you want to just ride on the "street", that is fine. Don't get me wrong, the Ninja 250 does SERVE it's purpose. Did anyone think of a Suzuke SV650 or and S? This IS a progression bike.
If you want to get serious and create a sport or a hobbie...go for a SPORT type bike. Then.....
1. the SKILLS go to school, example...Keith Code...they shouldh have a class near you...Go to the novice level, rent the gear and the bike. This class will let YOU know if you should be riding or NOT.
2. Buy a YSR and race in a YSR league. (you will obtain MINIMAL injuries)
3. Buy a dirt bike (any start w/ an 80 - or a XR100-120-125)..then go back to school
4. Then buy your bas *** SPORT bike.
5. then go back to school
6. Meet other riders, enjoy your track daze with your bad *** SPORT BIKE....
7. From riding on dirt, falling on asphalt with full leathers isn't so bad.
Have fun, JUST DO IT>

Yo,
Damn, the turbo boys talkin' **** again. Who'd a thunk it? *grin*
Actually, the Ninja 250 is actually quite similar to the NA RX-7. It has a rev happy engine, is bulletproof, and rewards the skilled driver with awesome handling.
I'll say it again: It's not all about horsepower or 1/4 mile times. There's a reason the Mazda Miata has been on Automobile's All Star list forever and a perennial favorite over at Car and Driver/Road & Track. Does it go a million miles an hour? Nope. Does it do the 1/4 mile in 13 seconds? Nope. Does it have a turbo? Nope.
Here's what it DOES do: It rewards the skilled driver. It is tons of fun. It is deadnuts reliable.
Wow, that sounds just like my car.

Man i have an 89TII that runs 13's and i've had my 250 for almost 5 years. I love that bike. Reliable, ( in all weather conditions- rain, hail, sleet and some snow ) fun to ride, cheap insurance, good gas mileage, so on so forth.
Have i grown out of it? Yes and NO. Any MONKEY can go fast in a straight line. I don't know why people talk so much ****, like if they did all the work. Sorry but it's not that way. Goin through the twisties is a whole different ball game. Rider skill actually comes into play big time. So far all that can talk about 250 being gay. Tell that to Max Biaggi, or Carlos Checa, who'll run circles around on the track.

Yo,
I looked at the previous Top 10 winners between 1986-1991. The FC turbo only placed once in it's production cycle: 1987. The Diamond Star turbo's cleaned our clocks, winning in 1989, 1990, 1991. 300Z Turbo: 1991, 1990. Miata: 1991, 1990.
Props to the SA/FB drivers: They won in 1983.

91 frame, 97 engine and everything else. ~5800 miles, new Avon Azaro II tires, Vortex rear sprocket (+2 teeth), new RK chain, LP Speedscreen, Vance and Hines SS2-R full system (a little scratched, came off a wrecked bike), clear flushmounts on the front, carbon fiber clear short stalks on the rear, no rear fender, polish wheel lips, grab bar, and bar clamps, purple neon tubes up front. Pretty nice purple/silver paintjob, although there are two nicks in the paint, and a dent in the gas tank where something fell on it in storage this winter. A suction cup should probably pull it out.

In regards to Max....he would say the same.
Both of these guys are RACERS. Please do not classify them as this TYPE of 250 rider...they are NOT. They ARE in a different league.
