so... I get home from work today and what's inside my door?

sweeeeet...

intercooled tips baby!

so, I didn't know te borla was a straight thru muffler! I get it's gonna sound pretty raunchy, huh?
-

-
the best part... FREE HORSEPOWER included!
so... the total shipping weight on the sticker said 44.8 lbs. (this is part no. 14192, y pipe and 2 muffs) It seems like whenever a debate over single, dual, true dual exhaust fires up somebody usually mentions weight as a consideration. IE, if true duals net 5 more hp, but there's 40 more lbs to carry, then do you really win? anyway, I said I would post weight on this biotch when it showed up, so there ya go! you have to account for packing materials though, which might be a couple of lbs tops.
now as soon as my RB DP/PS gets here I'm gettin' dirty I'll post weight on that too.

it was $458 (with free shipping!) at www.thepartsbin.com
RB catback was $560, and I'm pretty sure they aren't offering free shipping, are they? Even if they are, that's still a $102 price diff (enough of a diff for me).

i love mine. it sounds so pimp when you let off the gas at high rpms.
jc whitney has it the cheapest. i also searched for jc whitney discount codes and ended up getting it for $400 shipped.

lol. yeah I think I'm actually gonna throw the catback on now, and not wait till I get the front section. problem is, my front section (stock cats) is leaking pretty bad, and I'm not really keen on spending $50+ for new gaskets. I don't guess there's any way to rig up fake gaskets for cheap, like with peanut butter and scotch tape? I know rotary exhaust = teh death for cheap components, but... you know... maybe?
if not, does anyone know where to get gaskets cheaper than mazdatrix?

I had this system on my car when I first bought it. I couldn't stand the drone around 3000 rpm. I swapped it out for a set of true dual RB pipes and the drone is gone (and so is my emissions compliance, but that's not really important for the science of discovery).
I think if you experience the drone, you will have to either drive above 85mph all the time or cut the resonator tips off the exhaust.
But in any case, good choice for exhaust. If it weren't for the resonation, I would be happily driving mine around today.

the y-pipe borla includes with this kit is bigger than the stocker.
but yeah that's what I'll be running in the near future until I can get a downpipe and resonator. I hope it doesn't drone for me... or I'll just have to do 85 everywhere

lol, i actually wear it semi regularly too. one time i wore it into sears hardware and the cashier was jealous cause he didn't get one with his exhaust.
when i first opened the box i was like "wtf is this hat?" and then i couldn't find my other hat one day and so i started wearing this one.
on topic of the actual exhaust, my neighbor loved the sound of it too. he said it was really smooth sounding, i agreed of course.
