Boost Spike?

So i've been driving around lately. I've recently installed a new fuel filter (best mod i've ever done) becuase the old one i couldn't even blow air through. yes i wiped it off fuel before i blew on it. So today i drive around and i get on it. Holy crap my car is pulling like a SOB. it's awesome.

I grab a friend to show him what a 10 dollar fuel filter did to my car and he was amazed and almost sold his turbo'ed civic for a rx-7 (yeah right)
then he tells me, wow you almost got to 9 psi.

whoa.. wait a minute. isn't stock psi like 6? so am i boost spiking.. if so. is this really bad to boost it to 9 or 10 psi. at 5 psi it doesn't seem fast at all and i almost got taken by a 1.8 LS civic.

and i also notice that the car leaks a tiny bit more oil than normal. i do have a slightly leaky oil pan and something else that i can seem to find. anyways.. what are you thoughts.

it's 87 TurboII with 140,000 miles. Premium only. I'll run out of gas before I put regular.

Boost spike: When the boost temporarily overshoots the target boost level, then returns to the target level.

Boost Creep: When the boost continues past the target boost level, and does not return.

And stock boost is somewhere in the hood of 5.4 PSI (est.)

Oh, and if you have any exhaust/intake mods, your turbo will creep.
