Boost questions????

Ok, I have been told that the TII I have has a FCD on it wired in down by the ECU. I have not checked yet and really have not been driving the car due to it pulls very hard. I am afraid of over boosting or boost creep.

Ok, I have a lot of parts to be put on, just waiting for the right time (several other 7's taking up my time).

I tossed a boost guage on her just about 5 mins ago and had my wife hold the guage (tube thru the window) as we went down the street.

I hit 10 and 12 psi several times and once I hit 14 psi in 3rd gear.
With out an FCD I know that is bad. So what is an easy fix so I can drive this 7 more often? (I do have a manual boost controller I could install).

Just install a FCD id one is not on there?

Car has
720cc secondary injectors
Bonez down pipe, HF Cat, and a catback
3rd Gen Fuel Pump
ACT clutch/light weight flywheel
Turbo is stock I think, everything else is stock. Motor is a mazda reman with 30k on it.

Here is the other stuff to be put on when time allows:

HKS Sport Turbo, exhaust manifold, waste gate
HKS PFC-F-CON with the sport upgrade chip
HKS Graphic Control Computer
HKS FCD
HKS Turbo Timer

What is the stock boost level?
What is a good max for the stock turbo?

If you hit 14 PSI, you already have an FCD...

I hit it only in 3rd. Did not hit 1st hard but did in second and half thru 3rd then had to slow down (45 mph speed zone).

That's it, I'm going to go look again.

Yeah, thats all fine and good. But if you didnt have an FCD, you would have never made 14 to begin with..

Check, just pulled back the carpet and removed the panel to see and FCD sitting there and set to 12. Guess KD rotary in PA really did put one on.

Thanks for the help J-Rat. Can't wait to get me other goodies installed and see what she really has.
