Boost Problem

First off i have a 87 tII.
OK, today i was going home and the boost was fine. On the stock boost gauge it always read half way up the scale un full throttle. After about 20min of driving at around 80mph i got off the freeway. As i started off the boost barley came up at all so i tried full throttle and the gauge only came up about 1/8-1/4 of the scale. car still runs good just not as quick. Any ideas on what the problem might be?

This post is more to bump yours up, but my boost was screwed up because the wastegate actuator was pushed up (stuck). Are you noticing a performance difference?

well my boost reads about 7/8 the way up the boost gauge. This is in every gear it boosts that high. My car is 100% stock even the cats.

I think u had some boost problems before this.

Either: Exhaust is clogged (probably cats), intake has massive leaks and/or is clogged, turbo/wastegate have problems...

...in that order, check them out

Ya canadian is right...you should get more than halfway up the gauge anyways. My boost was going halfway up for a while and then one day it fixed itself and goes up as far as the stock gauge reads. I don't have a clue why but I am not complaining Look for intake leaks first off. Maybe a cracked TID.
