boost problem?

ok, so i bought this t2 from this guy. who didn't know much about it, but the guy he originally got it from did... anyway.

it had quite a few mods. wolf3d, 750 RC secondaries 3" exhaust.
i've put on the koyo rad with the electric fan 720 venom primaries FPR, underdrives, RP FP, jacob's ignition comp and crane cam's coils. did some suspension upgrades.
got rid of the emissions bs. etcetc.

anyway, on the TMIC it had 2 ported vaccum holes near the passenger rear. 1 was going to some ported source, the other was going to nothing. so i plugged it off realizing I'd just be blowing boost out of it and being harder to hit 100% load. (configured to the wolf's psi calibration i preset) so i capped it off.
and the boost was so instant and it jumped off of the chart INSTANTLY the wolf read over 20psi.

it was only for like less than a second. before i put the plug on it would slowly climb to 14-17 psi.

so i took off the turbo to check the actuator and wG. the wastegate has a 15psi spring in it (so it seems, i put 15psi of pressure to it and it opened up). and i ported out the wastegate (to the end of the flapper). and put it back on.
it boosted nicely and didn't have any creep (I believe creep is when it gets to what you want and slowly creeps by? or maybe that's overboosting). it stayed at a steady 16psi but took till about 5k to get there (again, with that plug uncapped). so i decided to cap it. and it still overboosted. not as bad, but it did indefinately.

so i've been running with it uncapped since. i still get decent boost. but i don't get there till around 5-6k. any ideas?

thanks
Chase.

The stock turbo is worthless at those boost levels.. 14psi would be the max boost you'd want.

Change the wastegate actulator to the stock 7psi one.. and see if that helps any.

this is probably a dumb question. i'm very familiar with rotaries, but not the porting. i know the types of porting etc. But can you port it while it's still a full block? or do you have to tear it down?

I think eatmyclutch was referring to the wastegate. Port the waste gate to a larger diameter and then weld on a exhuast valve that covers the hole.

And for the engine, you have to tear it apart, and rebuild it with atleast the softseals.
