Boost leak!!! questions

So while fiddling around with my car I noticed that that one of the couplers had a noticeable slit in the side about 1/4". Now knowing this and that the car was tuned before I bought it by rotary performance I'm scared to fix it and go full throttle as fixing the boost leak may cause it to run more boost then the original tune was for. However, the car is running off straight wg and was previously boosting .68 bar which is around 7-8 lbs. My question is the turbo I'm running is more then capable of running 8psi with a leak. Will fixing this situation cause it to run more boost or just whatever the wg spring is set at? Thanks for the replies.

That thought crossed my mind as well but if it was there then how much could it change the boost? .68 bar is what the power fc shows consistently which leads me to believe the tial wg is running a .7 bar spring. I'm gna take the wg off and check the spring with the color chart.

I'd recommend investing in a wideband. Then you could fix the leak, slowly go wot and watch the afrs. If it starts leaning out you know you need a tune now. If not, then you're good.

This would explain the not wanting to idle, shitty mpg, and part throttle lag as well.

If it won't idle well, then your tune was done without leaks. So you're most definitely safe fixing it and going ***** to the wall on the throttle.

Fixed the leak. Car actually boost lower now at about .6 bar. The leak was probally causing a boost spike.
