boost issues
Bought my 1987 Turbo II recently and am having boost issues...
Below is a list of stuff ive done to the car and parts that were previously installed, ive had the car about 3 months.
as far as i kno, there isnt a boost controller on the car, but i noticed sometimes it runs really strong and sometimes its just kinda normal (not bad) just not REALLY strong.
then i noticed something strange, when the car just feels normal, boost maxes out around 5 psi @ 6500 rpm, but at those times that it runs REALLY strong, its around 10 psi @ 6500...
kinda lame that theres a fuel cutoff at 6500 rpm though.. (is this a factory setting?)
BUT, what i really wanna kno is does anyone have an idea why the boost would have such a strange variance??
ive tried checking for vacuum leaks, but im pretty sure there arent any...
was having idling issues when i first got the car, but thats mostly fixed but i still have to warm it up about 5 min in the morning...
i just hope the turbo aint needin' to be replaced.
any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!!!
specs:
76,XXX miles
blitz blow-off valve
mushroom intake
New Koyo Aluminum radiator
New OEM Waterpump/thermostat/thermoswitch
All fluids replaced
Straight pipe/down pipe/RB exhaust
Oldschool HKS F-CON (plug and play)
New Spark Plugs
Removed A/C
Fuel Pump Cut-off installed
New Master and Slave cylinders
Short-shifter
3-puck Clutch
Afmkt Boost, temp and oil pressure gauges
old-momo steering wheel
havent got around to replacing all the hoses yet, but i should and will do so soon...

I'm having a similar issue.
Car ran great (with it's slight mods it reached 10psi) until a day or two ago when it's idle turned to sh$t and boost won't go beyond 5psi.
I'm going to search around and post my findings here for you if I get anything concrete.
