boost duty soleniod question: did i wire it correctly?

hello everyone.

This past weekend I swapped out the n/a for a jspec turbo engine. I used my original n/a harness and modified it to work the turbo engine. For the knock sensor and the boost duty soleniod plugs, i cut them off of the old jspec harness, and spliced them into my n/a harness.

The problem is that when the ignition is "on" the boost soleniod constantly continues to click rapidly. When i start the vehicle it is impossible to tell if the solenoid contiues to click with the engine running.

is that normal? or did i mess up on the wiring. Everything else seems to work alright. When driving and monitering my aftermarket boost gauge, the car boosts, and then i can see it bleed off some of the boost back down around 8 psi or so.

when i adapted the wiring harness, I used the plug for the 6pi solenoid as per the fsm. There were two wires on the old solenoid and two wires for the plug. so my only thought is that maybe i crossed them. There was a blueish colored wire that I traced back to the proper pin on the ecu on the wiring harness, i then connected that to the blue/purpleish colored wire on the duty boost plug. the other wires were black and brown(hard to tell, dirty) I then connected those also.

in a couple of months (and when my checkbook heals) I plan on getting an electronic boost controller anyway, so that will allow me to bypass the stock soleniod right?

any ideas??

thanks

jeff

The solenoid does not bleed to lower boost.
It bleeds off to raise boost.

If you're uncomfortable about the set-up, just remove the solenoid and connect the two hose ends to each other.
When you uprade the exhaust, you're going to want to drop the boost anyways...
