Boost Controler

I couldnt find a better area to post this in so im posting it here.

I have an 88 RX7 T2 with a 91 turbo on it and I need a boost controler in the worst way. Im looking at the Apexi AVCR but its just so damn much money even if i bought it offline. Does anyone know where I could find that for cheap or any other decent boost controler that i could get thats not going to rape my wallet?

If it would be easier, contact me on AIM: TearFromXXTheRed

thanks

if you're looking for cheap - manual boost controllers are the best way to go. Then again, why would anyone really absolutely need a boost controller? You do understand that they only increase boost, not decrease, right? If you have a problem with boost creep, a boost controller won't fix it. Thats just what I understand from how you describe your necessity.

Pretty much what he said.^^^

Have you ported your wastegate yet? If not, I wouldn't get real heavy on the boost until you do that or else you risk boost spike and blowing the engine prematurely.

Also, if you're looking to turn up the boost, what kind of fuel mods do you have?

Right now, in the line of fuel, i have a Walboro(sp) pump and thats it. What the problem is right now is that since i have an 88 engine with a 91 turbo on it (and from my understanding they were different scroll systems) its boosting low (like 1psi). I figured, get a boost contrler just so it will bost right. My intentions arent to get this thing, go crank it to 30PSI and drive 150 down the highway, just get the car to a normal safe load, which i have been told is right around 9?

either build your own MBC (Manual Boost Controller) from searching the forum. or buy one for cheap. i know someone built one from lowes and said it worked well, not sure where the thread is.

your other option is the Greddy Profec B II I have this EBC and I Love it. easy to set, 2 boost setups, and the displat turns red if you start to creep when your WG can't handle anymore.

hope this helps,
Ryosuke
