bogging down

My 89 gtu has been out of comission for a while but I recently finished all of the body work i was doing on it and put it back together. It had sat for a couple of months but it started and ran great. I drove it around for a week or so before i took it in to get a paint job. While it was getting painted the alternator belt broke so they replaced that. After i picked up my car it runs fine under load at low rpms in first gear but in higher gears and rpms it bogs down under heavy load. I replaced the air filter thinking all of the sanding might have clogged it and the fuel filter since it sat for a while, neither helped. I'm about to run a run a bottle of injector cleaner through but i don't think it will help. Any advice?

I would stay away from the injector cleaner, send them out to get them professionally cleaned if anything. How did your alternator belt break when they were painting? You might want to take your catylitic converter off and see if it is clogged. (very simple 4 bolts and some penetrating lube.) Also check your 6pi system, the actuators that open at 3800 rpm may have gotten clogged from the paint as well. (also very simple, check the manuals in the FAQ section). Hope this helps.

I dont really have the time or money to send my injectors off right now. Its not the cat since there is no cat. I dont think its the 5/6th ports as it will bog down before it hits 3800. It revs fine all the up and is normal in first at low rpms even under load so i dont think its the plugs but im about to swap those out to.

i put new spark plugs in and ran some sea foam through the brake booster line just because it was lying around but no help. i havent cleaned the injectors yet, but im hoping thats where the problem lies. it seems like its starving for fuel.
