Body Repair on Plastic Turbo Hood Scoop

Hey guys, my turbo hood scoop is cracked. It has a single, straight-thru crack on the top edge (!) and Mazda wants the insane price of $300 to replace JUST the plastic hood scoop insert.

Unfortunately the edges of the crack splintered a bit, and it looks to be very difficult to actually get the plastic to lock back together to glue it without breaking the piece further. Does anybody have any ideas for repairing this type of fracture so it will be minimally noticable from the outside? I have it at one of the best body shops in Atlanta (a buddy works there) and even they said "um, can you get another one?" So... in short, they don't want to do the work. Can I? If not, does anyone have one they'll sell me cheap? I'm pretty broke right now (see my mod list for reasons why, lol)...

Thanks much!
