Body kits
Body kits
Hi guys. I am interested in getting a body kit for my 2nd gen. I've read about some very unhappy people who got kits that turned out to be junk. Show me what you got, good or bad. Let me know about company, fit, price and style.
My car needs paint and I want a nice good fitting kit before I have it painted. Car is an 88 coupe. It looks boring stock. The 89-91 models have a much better look. I may even use these parts instead of a kit. Will they attach no problem or are modifications necessary?
I want a supra style wing with brake light (my 3rd brake light and trunk lock are shaved off). I also want to get sideskirts and front bumper (not too concerned with rear bumper unless one looks too good to pass on).

pretty much any kit you get will fit like crap... and the people who are whining, are just people who have no clue what they are doing (or they are cheap), and didnt get the kit professionally fitted to their car....
i purchased the version select gp sport style kit from raceonusa a few years back... fitment was so-so, but after it was correctly fitted to my car, it looks great.
i paid $900 for the kit, and $1000 to get it installed, fit, and painted (i know people, who know people, who shot some people to get me that deal
)

Widebody = expensive. Especially if the rear is involved, as it costs a lot to get them moulded in properly. Buying the kit is almost always the cheapest part by far.

fitment is ok...........i like it.

With the S5 wing on it:

with the S4 Sport WING:

I like the Re-Amemiya sides also..........i think the supra wing is hideous on the FC BTW.

Johnny that strap down looks a little scary on the dyno picture. I am making heavy duty removeable brackets for front and rear because when I had the car towed last month for final exhaust work it took two hours to get it up on the truck. I am glad I saw that pick of yours so I can be sure to engineer it for dyno use as well.
The thing is not the fitment it so much itz the dam wavies atleast on mine,,it was a pain in the _ _ _!!! big time,,but it did fit pretty good,,just all the flat surface's were not flat,,who ever u get it from ask about that (is it flat or do i have to fill)when u get it run ur hand over it and cry if it isnt flat lol
Im not interested in the kits with modified headlights or the widebodies. They are too pricy and a lot more work. I don't really care for the look either. I was interested in the Demon kit because of the lack of the flash to pass lenses. Those things always break. I Don't like the side skirts on that kit at all thou. I would substitute them. The bumpers look just as good as the other I've seen. Does anybody like the supra wing? I didn't think it was too bad, but I don't want to be the only one getting laughed at driving down the street. Here is a pic I saw on ebay:
