body harness question...

im pretty much done RHD swapping my FC. but the only thing i need is to finish wiring the body harness. its S5 JDM to S5 USDM. i matched all the wires that were the same on one plug. and almost everything worked. just the dash lights and brake lights didnt work.

does anyone know wich color wire in the body harness on the s5 usdm is for the brake lights? and also maybe the wire that gives power to the bulbs in the dash. im doubting anyone knows it off the top of your head. but maybe how to find out wich wire it is also...

thanks ahead of time.

the skinnier of the red w/ green stripe on either of the harnesses that run to the wiper switch or headlight switch area works the dash lights

where abouts are you trying to pick up the brake lights?
the FSM will have all of this information

You go to the pages in the wiring diagram that show the Stop lights and work it out from there.

Series five wiring diagrams are in the FAQ thread or at least the link to them is there. Or go to RotorWiki and you can find them there. At the beginning of the wiring manual are several pages to show one how to define the following diagrams. Most of it is intuitive.

The pinout of the plugs is at the bottom of each page or if not there will be found at the back of the wiring manual. Such as the third jpg attached. Those plugs will have a ref designator staring with X-, like X-23.

It helps to use the right terminology when referring to the different harness. See the first pages of the wiring diagrams for the right name of the harness. Plus if you look at each wire on a given page you'll see next to each wire a (F) or (R) or (EM) designation for what harness each wire is in. But then again, that's all explained in the first few pages of the wiring diagram section.
