Question BNR stage I owners, or simmilar

I'm looking into either rebuilding my stock s4 turbo, or going with a BNR stage I upgrade. I don't have a lot of $$, so don't tell me to go stage II, or stage III, or go with a S5 turbo and then BNR it etc. I have investigated those options, but right now, its either rebuild, or BNR stage I.

I just wanted to know if anyone was running this, and what their experience was like with this setup. I've read some pretty good things about BNR turbos from searching, but didn't see too much on stage I's.

Just wondered what the opinon was on it. How it performed, estimated 1/4 times, etc. The basic horse puckey.

Thanks,
Chris

the reason you haven't seen much about it is because people just usually spring for the bigger turbo. I mean it's kind of like buying popcorn at the movies its 3.75 for a small 4.00 for a medium and 4.25 for a large. you get the point. ANyways I have something equivelant to a stage one and it is nice and fast! It has the stock housing however the compressor is upgraded to a to4b vtrim. I havn't tuned it yet so I'm sure it could be even faster. When I do I'll post my dyno numbers but I can tell you that you will be happy with it compared to the stock turbo.

I got my stock s5 turbo rebuilt and upgrading to stage 1 by BNR. You lose a little bit of low end, but you gain alot of top end. I really kicks in around 4.5k. They do great work at BNR, even though theyre kinda expensive. I'd go with it if its your daily driver..

i have the same deal.. was done by a local shop tho. to4b comp wheel in the stock housing.

I was happy with it for a while. But i want more. It did 247rwhp at 11psi. Tho i have been told that my 2.5" catback is holding it back. I ran a 13.7 with wheel spin like crazy and a 2.2 60 foot. I got some videos of the wheel spin.... it was getting out of hand. I got a video of me launching and spinning at half throttle... when the thing cought traction for a good second i floored it in first and it broke loose again. ill try to dig it up.

now:
3"tid and cone, 3" dp, 2.5" catback has 2 resonators, 680cc secondaries, safc, fcd, stock IC, timing turned back 5* at the CAS, 10.5 - 11.0 AFR tune. 11psi = 247rwhp

Well i called a turbo shop and asked about getting a .60 to4 housing put on it and they told me $40 installed. He said he had some laying around.

parts in my room waiting to install and on the way:

.60 to4 front housing, 3" catback, rtek 1.5 ecu chip, 4x720s, custom fmic (starion), hks filter adaptor to replace the tiny ebay one. Should free up some hp... im hoping to see ~275 at 11psi and ~325 at 15psi.

I drive my car daily and have had no problems with my current setup so far. So if your looking for a little more power with out haveing to go stand alone and fmic then the stage 1 is about as good as it gets.

My goal is 300+whp daily driver and run at least a 12.999999999 with slicks if need be.
