totallimmortal, not to be a smart ***, but im not that dumb, i wouldnt be going on here if i didnt try to ask him, its more like a friend ofa friend, and he said he doesnt remember what year it came from either.

Aaron Cake thanx for the links, but that doesnt anwser my question. i want to know what year that bmw fan is that fits perfectly to the FCs Rad. its either spend $50 on the E fan or 50 on the clutch, the E fan would be better, cause of the installs i have. ill check out the pontiac fan, but the bmw 7 series has the V8 or if it comes from the new one a v10, so i assume the cooling fan for that would be killer, u should add the 7 series fan to that list, but ill do the actual install of it first and take pics, if you are interested in posting it on that site

so if anyone can tell me what year it is i would appreciate it, dont give me info i didnt ask for or need, thanks

My writeup mentions that the Fiero and GM fans from the Pontiac 6000, full size Oldsmobiles and many other models fit. The BMW fan is probably very rare, and thus more expensive then the fans I mentioned.

i guess ill just find what dimension the efan for 7 series efan is and see if it matched with the fc rad

sorry mightymouse0x didn't mean to imply you were dumb just wondering why you couldn't ask but that makes sense then. Really on 50 bucks damn junk yards around here are craz7 they want like 120 for a escort fan from like a 94!!!! I couldn't believe it when the guy at the junkyard told me, i was like you know you can buy new fans at that price and he tried to tell me that performance fans went for over a grand and that stock ones new were near 500 for most models. I was just dumbfounded at the mans ignorance or lies whichever it was looks like i'll be buyin my e-fan over the internet

oh yea, most junkyards will try to rip your *** off. the only problem with buying used parts over the internet is that u dont know the condition. just doing basic seraches on the net works. were u trying to do the ford escort e fan install? if so DONT, i did, its horrible, doesnt flow worth a crap and when u reach between 80-90 (which is my crusing speed, ha) it causes turbulence or something cause the car will overheat, quickly. it was fine when it was cold here in tx, but now that the summer is coming up, i need a replacement bad, and ill be damned if ill waste 300-400 for a flex alite

yeah i've heard bad things about flex a lite too. seems that taurus fans are very popular and i've even seen people on this forum scrap their flex a lite for taurus fans. The esort efan was my first consideration but your not the first to tell me to steer away from it so i think i'll go with a ford taurus fan probably off of ebay

Well, all bmw 7 series's have clutch fans, so the fan you have is the condenser fan, not the primary cooling fan. Its mounted in front of the condenser and is a pusher. Without seeing it I cant really tell you what year its from. For the hassle it seems like there are other options available. Most FWD cars have some really good stock e-fans. My brother has a 240sx and is using older Altima fans(dual 11", dual speed fans) on his car and they cool great. Ill see if I can get some measurements tomorrow. If you just want to see what works Id head to the junkyard with a tape measure.

There's only one series of P6K (Pontiac 6000). So whatever you get is probably fine.

Good info. This fan is probably not suitable for FC's.
