Talking Blurred Licence Plates...

Why do so many people blur out their licence plates when they post pics? I mean, do you blur it out when your driving down the street? I mean, what's it gunna hurt? And don't give me some BS about someone tracing your tags so they can steal your car... this isn't the movies...

All the pics of my car on my site have my plate on them. I could care less. I don't see the point of blurring it. the only time I have done so was when a site I uploaded to required it for some reason.

I don't do it either, I don't give a rat's *** if someone sees my license plate. What are they going to do with a few numbers?

The only time I'll smudge it is if it's a picture in which it'll look better without the plate being so obvious. The plates on my car are unfortunately very colorful and stand out quite a bit on the black plate. Sometimes the pic will look better if I blur it. But I don't do it for security reasons.

I do it b/c my plate is all beat up. It was on my 89 GTU that hit a tree backwards doing ~70(long story, dont ask), and they wouldnt even give me a new plate without paying another tag fee and all that other BS.

that's not a bad idea, if you don't like someone print out their plates and put them on your car, then go and run a bunch of red lights with those red light cameras and speed past photo radar places. the 2 weeks later they get like $1000 in tickets in the mail
