What did you do to get that dent in the rear quarter fixed? I have the exact same damage as you did.

I agree. Blue TII's threads are a blessing to this forum.
His car is one of the nicest FC's on the board, and every mod he does is thought out and followed through w/ **** retentive attention to detail.

Makes me want to finish up my car just that much more. Mine will look even stocker than his though :-\

ColdSeven- so you're putting down over 300 RWHP then? if so do you have any ET's for this setup?
?

My goal was 300RWHP. When my turbo builder (Bryan@BNR) heard this he was vaguely insulted; you see a S4 based BNR Stage4 w/ internal wastegate has already dynoed 408RWHP @17psi (although it had larger T04E comp housing on a 13BRE).

I don't drag race, though everyone at Auto-x mistakenly assumes the car was built for it, which miffs me 'cause it handles great

I think it met my 300RWHP goals When I was on street tires (200 treadwear) it would lose traction in 3rd sometimes 4th gear on the freeway. Inj. duty cycles are too high w/ 720cc and 1600cc inj. and Walbro 225lph high pressure pump.

ColdSeven- oh yeah what are you runnig for suspension?
i have 17's W/RB springs, sways and tokico blue struts...i still have wheel gap like stock but its stiff and cut down body roll more than in half...just wondering cause i'd like the height you've got.
Comp. engine, trans, rear end bushings w/ torque brace (add to ability to adjust line w/ throttle on/off)

Full Energy susp. poly bushing set

RB rear steer elim.

Mazdatrix ball end adj sway bar links

GC rear camber link

JIC FLT-A2 coilovers (set to 1/2 way between JIC recommended street and track height)

JIC CF front/rear strut bars

225/50-16 Toyo RA-1 tires all around (100 treadwear)

MaczPayne- What did you do to get that dent in the rear quarter fixed? I have the exact same damage as you did.
The body shop welded tabs onto the dent and carefully pulled it out a bit at a time from different areas.

Then added filler (1mm-1.5mm at thickest). The whole door jamb to edge was brought back out so it was all steel and the filler patch feathered out ~1/2" from the edge in a ~6"x6" spot behind the door edge. The inner jam has a similar though smaller filler patch.

Shops will vary greatly on price and ability w/ no apparant corellation. This shop was relatively cheap, great at collision repair, not good at customization (sunroof delete) and got lazy once they were paid (follow-up work).

S4 preservation league, baby. Keeping round tails and body colored rubstrips off those funky '80s FCs I think S5 does look a bit more modern, but they look heavier to me as well since I know their dirty secrets.

Drive that funky FC forumboy- and lay down some blackstripes 'till you die!

Node- Mine will look even stocker than his though :-\
Oh sure, out do me will you! Well, my GXL is the most stockerist there is; just a bit of aftermarket dirt and grime and some paint reduction. :P

I love your setup BLUE TII. I'm jealous because your engine is so clean! You really didn't miss a single detail and took no shortcuts. I am a perfectionist and there are many things that continually annoy me about the cleanliness of my engine bay.

I based my whole V-Mount completely around his design, and he helped me a lot long the way; and for that I am deeply thankful.

I used to suffer from BAD heatsoak every time I parked it or sat at a light too long, and since there was really no exhaust it would never quite cool down. The only time it would function properly was when it was cool outside (but even then after long periods of time it would slowly heat up). You might be excited to know that I just bought and installed a vented hood, but I have yet to thoroughly test it. From what little testing I have done though, it seems to be a night and day difference. After all, the whole setup was designed around having a vented hood!

Awesome work. I think I speak for many of us when I say that your car (or parts of it) embodies many of my eventual goals with my car.

Ok, i love your car, it is everythnig what the people above said, and more. Althrough,
I dont see the problem with the s5 styling. I personaly like the S5 front bumper/lip combo and round tails alot. I guess we all have different tastes, huh? Anyway, keep us all updated!

Asterisk: I originally liked FDs, and bodykitted at that. Then I got real and knwe I couldnt afford one for a while. So I looked to s5 t2.
S4's are garbage, s5's are so newer and better looking. right? WRONG
I love my s4, and think that its the best looking s4 (white spoilerless t2 w/ no rubstrips) and I'm so happy that I found the color I was looking for.

The s4's do grow on you, especially when they have clean paint. I have no urge for s5 rubstrips although the taillights are pretty damn tempting.

I used to think oh hey, bodykits are cool. Not anymore. I think most are hideous and love the bodywork that mazda made. The aftermarket mazdaspeed bumpers for FD are very nice too.

stock body for me! Only reason in my eyes for a bodykit is if you need some downforce/airdam action or you dont have big enough bumper/brake duct inlets. I want that stuff, but will find another way of making it happen if at all.
Other than that and theyre just rice.

I hope my car becomes as badass as yours. At least I'm on the same color.
