Unhappy blue smoke only till o2 sensor is warm

ok i have an 89 tII and i get quiet a bit of smoke on fire up.. only the first staret of the day. also the smoike stops when the air fuel guage starts reading correctly. after the first start of the day it wont smoke at all after that... any ideas on what this could be...i was wondering if it sould be turbo seals.. cause when i first got the car i had oil in the IC piping lines. any help is greatly appreciated.

Mine does it too, sometimes worse then others, but it only lasts for maybe ~10 seconds, so I let it slide.

I've also gone through and re-adjusted all my throttle plates, rebuilt injectors, cleaned all my connectors, checked the ACV, vacuum, and my TPS.

I had once thought that maybe the fuel regulator on the secondary rail could be messed up, because when I pull the vac. line running to it and plug it with my finger, things seem to smooth out a bit, but I don't dare run at load with it removed.

On a slight side note, what's the best way to go about testing your O2 sensor? I don't know how old mine is.

IMO, a small amout of blue smoke on startup is normal, as long as you don't see it after warm up. I would say most will see a little blue on startup, but the cars run great with no problems and normal oil comsumption. Oil remaining in chambers, possible seals not up to temp, just a couple of my thoughts.

A few puffs of blue smoke @ startup is acceptable, clouds mean there is a problem. This can either be a sticky OMP actuator (linked to the throttle on the TB) or weak oil seals in the motor. Unless the throttle is occasionally sticky though, it's unlikely the OMP linkage is the problem. To test oil control rings, get the car warm and rev to around 4-5K for 10-15 seconds and immediately let off. Blue smoke at that point means worn oil control rings...if the car makes good compression, you can nurse them with "motor honey" (STP stop smoke, just a thick thick oil with conditioners) for quite a while until you find another engine or have time/money to rebuild. I ran for around 4 years and 40K miles with bad oil control rings and the oil treatment kept them intact (the car would only smoke upon decel @ high rpm once in a while). Then, I went for a TII swap w/ a rebuild hehe

i have done the rev test se3veral times and had no blue smoke.. but i have a s5 tII with an electric OMP. i also have those rubber lines to feed the oil injectors.. i was thinking they might be letting more iol seep down to the chambers thant the plastic lines would. anybody have an extra set of OMP lines for an S% TII let me know,

If you need OMP lines get stainless ones...a few people sell them.
