blown oil seal in engine or turbo?

turbo II s5 blows white smoke like crazy and tons of oil enough to pool up on the ground once the engine gets warm.

pulled the turbo, its oily, but mostly after the exhaust turbine and in it. ports of the engine look good/non oily. is just the turbo exhaust seal blown? what is the oil seal inside the motor that blows? (i've heard about it but never seen evidence or a pic or explanation.)

the exhaust seal will get replaced regaurdless i just want to make sure the engine doesn't need pulled.

check your charge pipes for oil as well.

It's a bit rare for the piston seals to leak oil into the turbine..

the charge pipes and pretty clean. The smoking would start a minute or two after startup, then I could see oil dripping from the waste gate area, and start smoking out the exhaust like crazy.

theirs another site that I don't have anymore that i'd recommend, they offer several stages for rebuild depending on how much you want to get outta your stock turbo.
