Question Blown motor? Faulty sensor?

in a nutshell...I put my new FMIC kit on today, took the car for a short drive... drove great other than hitting fuel cut a few times even though i have the knightsport fcd. let my gf's brother, he races on dirt, drive the car to see what his opinion was. hit fuel cut a few times at about 7500-8000. on the way back the car stalled rolling into the driveway. i figured a pipe blew off. popped the hood, all was good, no pipes blew off. i tightened everything up just to make sure. i tryed to start it and it did the same thing that it would do when a pipe blew off... turnover, rev to about 1500 and die. no idleing, just straight up and straight back down. any input would be great!
i pulled out the haynes manual and am gonna work on the car eveyday this week after school and work. i found a description of my problem in the trouble shooting. hopefully you or the manual will be able to help me.

I'm not sure what happend, i dont think the motor is blown but if someone knows different then please let me know. Is it possible that the boost sensor may have gone bad or anything else along those lines? has anyone had this problem before?

When you were rolling into the driveway, was the clutch in (you were idling while rolling)?

I can see this being a vacuum leak or maybe an AFM problem.

first, i wasnt driving when it happend so i dont know what he was doing or how the car felt. but no the car wasnt idling, it died and we rolled into the driveway. it could still possibly be a vaccume leak or afm right? i think i have an extra afm sitting around somewhere, i'll see what happens if i install it. would it be a problem if maybe its off a s4 and mine is a s5. thanks by the way, i for some reason didnt think of either of those solutions.

When you try to start it, if you keep the pedal floored, will it stay running? I've had massive vacuum leaks (won't run under 6k), yet could still get it started (barely).

nah, i tried that already and it did the same thing, it actually did worse when i had the pedal on the floor trying to start it.

Somewhere between the air flow meter and the block there is a big intake vacuum leak. Most likely one of the couplers near the FMIC that are hard to see. An open coupler somewhere will let the AFM door stay shut, indicating to the computer that there is no air coming into the engine, and making the fuel delivery go lean and stall the engine as soon as it comes off it's 1 second of cranking fuel map.

when i get off work i'll change out that afm and see what happens, i'll also check again to make sure all the couplers are tight and make sure none of them blew out or anything.

well i took a look at the car today and brought my extra maf and intake with me incase the maf was bad or the intake had a leak... well as soon as i looked at it i decided to check the sensor's plug in on the maf... it was loose... lol that was the whole problem, it wasnt in there good... i think that maybe when we were runnin the car so hard, it was probably shakin the intake up and down and the plug came loose. i was happy that it was such a simple fix but still mad because of all the doubt i had runnin through my head and the fact that the car was once again not running. thanks for everyones input
