blown motor
I just had the motor replaced with a Mazda Factory rebuild. It has two thousand miles on it and it already took a crap. Now Mazda needs to look at it to see what caused it and see if it is at their expense. I'm pissed but I don't know that I want to go through this again. If they don't cover this for any reason. I'm going to have this motor built by someone. We will see what happens. No rex no smiles.

Sucks.. did you baby it? you're supposed to be REAL nice to engines for the break-in period... any overheating?
New engines sometimes have pretty low compression, so they may be hard to start for the first few thousand miles.. maybe the ole' ATF trick could give you a little boost..

I've always babied it but I did not like the way this engine ran in the first place. It had a vibration right from the get go. I'm just going to be pissed if Mazda says oh sorry you have a RB exhaust your **** out of luck. Even if this works out in my favor...I have to pick up the labor cost. It always seems everytime I have money for mods, I have to spend it keeping the car running. I might be sold because I'm loosing my patience with this.

Laying Down Rotary Law
vibration???
Hmm it could be a mix matched motor
like 1 89 rotor 1 87
wrong front counterwieght for the flywheel etc
internal engine vibration is a no no

Former Moderator. RIP Icemark.
I was think the same thing as phinsn98,
perhaps in the rebuild the used a A weight rotor and a C weight rotor, or an auto counter balance, but stock flywheel.

Just know that Mazda might not warranty their engines if there are any mods to the car. If they do this to me I will snap. This was never explained to me even though my mods are minimal. I went from 108,000 miles to 146,000 miles with my present mods (RB Turbo Back, FCD, K&N cone filter and FCD) without a hitch and I think 146,000 is good amount of miles. Mazda's factory rebuild popped in under 2000 miles. I'm not sure how I will handle myself if they say owe were not going to pick up the tab on this. What do you guys think?
